Osteopathy

Osteopathy is a drug-free, non-invasive hands-on therapy with a holistic (whole body) approach. It aims to help treat somatic dysfunction with the manipulation of one’s muscles bones and surrounding tissues and joints. The hands-on approach uses gentle techniques such as cranial sacral, visceral manipulation, mobilization, muscle energy techniques and soft tissue to stretch, relax and strengthen the structures of the body.
Our Osteopaths approach to osteopathy involves their kinesiology background of health and fitness. They provide additional personalized exercise programs that cater to individual needs. They believe understanding the lifestyle and also nutritional aspects is very important to one’s health. Osteopathy is a complementary therapy and does not need to be considered only when in pain. Other techniques including cranial sacral and visceral manipulation are used as well to improve overall health and wellness, emotionally and physically. At the end of treatments, you experience mild soreness similar to what you may feel after working out, which typically diminishes within 24 hours.
They have personally experienced success rates in reducing or completely feeling pain-free with patients who have had headaches, low back pain and plantar fasciitis. Other patients have seen significant improvement in range of motion, joint mobility and increase of energy.
It is advised when coming to your appointment to wear loose, athletic clothing that does not restrict your range of motion and is not too thick. You are not required to remove any clothing.
