Melanie Da Costa

Melanie has always had a passion in guiding people along a healthy lifestyle. She started her journey in 2012 when she graduated from Humber College with a diploma in Fitness and Health Promotion. She then wanted to extend her knowledge in the health field and studied kinesiology at Brock University where she later received a degree in 2016. During her time in school, Melanie developed a strong interest in rehabilitation with a whole-body approach and proceeded to study manual osteopathy at the National Academy of Osteopathy in Toronto where she successfully obtained a diploma as a manual osteopathic practitioner.
Melanie uses a holistic approach in her treatments and uses a variety of therapeutic techniques to assist in the body’s self-healing process during musculoskeletal dysfunction and physiological distress. She practices therapeutic techniques including osteo-articular mobilizations, muscle energy techniques (MET’s), soft tissue therapy, myofascial release, visceral manipulations, Positional Release/strain counter-strain therapy and craniosacral therapy.
Melanie’s focus is to ultimately help patients to obtain optimal health and enjoy a pain-free lifestyle. She is currently a member of the Society of Osteopath’s Canada (SOC) and National Manual Osteopathic Society (NMOS). She looks forward to meeting with you and is eager to start your therapeutic journey!
